Best Care Practices in the Post-Acute & Long-Term Care Continuum 2024

Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2024 – Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek

FMDA invites you to submit educational program proposals for Best Care Practices in the Post-Acute & Long-Term Care Continuum 2024, Oct. 31-Nov 3., 2024, at Signa by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek.

Submissions should be based on the areas of interest to medical directors, physicians, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, and pharmacists with issues related to post-acute and long-term care. In addition, the average session is 1.0- to 2.0-hours in length.

Quality educational programs are the pinnacle of our annual convention. Attendees expect clinical topics to be strong evidence-based lectures with cited references and administrative topics to be relevant to their setting and focused on current best care practices. Presentations that incorporate attendee networking, case-discussion (Q&A), small groups, and take home tools such as handouts, key points, guides or quick tips are highly encouraged. This will result in the highest possible learning experience for our attendees.

The Florida Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (FMDA) defines needs assessment as “any systematic approach to collecting and analyzing data about the educational needs of individuals or organizations.” Needs may be perceived, imagined, desired, or thought to be important or real. A needs assessment can also be viewed as a gap, the difference or distance between what is occurring in practice and what is expected (the desired outcome), or, the difference between what is and what should be occurring.

FMDA views this process as the step in the educational process used to help achieve an effective continuing education activity. The needs identification process sets the stage for the development of the learning objectives (what the participants can expect to get out of the activity) which is then followed by format selection (the best method to deliver the content and teach objectives).

The deadline for submissions to FMDA’s “Call for Speaker Presentations” is March 1, 2024.

FMDA will only accept proposals submitted using the online submission system. Please do not submit a proposal unless you can be available to present on any day of the convention.
